Granny Fi’s Toy Cupboard

We are a family-run toy shop with vivid imaginations and a stubborn refusal to grow up. At Granny Fi’s Toy Cupboard you will find everything that WE love — from handmade dolls and dragons to magical bits and pieces that come from all of our favourite fandoms.

Granny Fi’s Toy Cupboard has been the dream of artist and author Fiona McDonald for most of her life. And in early 2013 it came true!

With the help of her daughter and dragon apprentice, Beattie, they opened the doors to the very first Granny Fi’s Toy Cupboard. Together they make as many toys as humanly possible, sewing well into the night with something cosy on TV.

Four generations of women helped bring Granny Fi’s Toy Cupboard to life. Great Grandma knitted toys until the last year of her life, when knitting became too hard.

She passed away in March of 2018 — telling all the doctors and nurses in the hospital to visit our shop even in her last few days. Granny Fi and Beattie (the main toy makers) are determined to make Great Grandma proud, with the help of the toy testers — Izzy and Charlotte. All of them like to eat cake after a day of hard work.
