Northaven Ltd has been a cornerstone of disability support in Inverell for more than 50 years, making it the region’s longest-standing local provider. Established in 1969 by passionate community members, the organisation was built on a vision of creating meaningful employment, training, and social opportunities for people with disability. That vision continues to guide its work today.
As a community-based, not-for-profit organisation, Northaven Ltd delivers a wide range of supports designed to empower individuals and build independence. Its supported employment programs and social enterprises provide valuable, real-world work experience through initiatives such as The Haven Café, The Haven Floristry and Giftware, and its manufacturing services. These programs help participants develop practical skills, confidence, and a strong sense of purpose.
Northaven also supports children and families through its Early Intervention Centre, offering tailored services that assist young people in developing essential life skills from an early age. This early support plays a vital role in helping children reach their full potential.
Governed by a voluntary Board of Directors made up of dedicated local community members, Northaven Ltd remains firmly focused on serving the needs of the community. Its experienced leadership team manages day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of care, accountability, and sustainability.
Every service provided by Northaven is person-centred and reinvested back into the community. By creating opportunities, building connections, and supporting independence, Northaven Ltd continues to strengthen a more inclusive and supportive Inverell region.
