Intention to sell water allocations in the Gwydir catchment
The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder will sell up to 15 gigalitres of water in the Gwydir catchment.
The sale will operate through a competitive tender process which will be open from 29 September, 2026 at 10am to 1 October, 2026 at 5pm.
This is a sale of water allocations under the Water Act trade provisions Section 106(3) of the Act.
The proceeds of the sale will be used to purchase water or for environmental activity projects that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of water for the environment.
